Good storytelling is to me, is always found in the little details, those small insignificant storytelling that add up, and make all the difference.
Light and composition, are obvious ways to create a certain mood and atmosphere in your food photographs, and so is editing or post production, where you really get to add on the final layers of storytelling. Honing in on those small details that draw you in, and make you want to take a bite, take a seat, tear into, and mop up the sauce with. And I’m always so surprised, when during my photography workshops, so many are taken aback when I dig deep into the importance of choosing your background, and the beautiful storytelling elements that layers and texture are, the detailing ability they all have in creating a mood, to a food image. So let me share my “secrets” with you, the good stuff that will make your food photography stand out, and draw you in.
